Exploring Origami: Make a Fall Wreath

Thursday, September 26 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Origami is an ancient art that remains popular today as a form of creative expression, and even serves as a source of scientific and techical innovation!*

Art educator Joy Ann Cabanos is offering two workshops that will give you a chance to learn and apply basic origami techniques in a mindful, relaxed and fun environment.

You’re encouraged to sign up for both workshops, but you can also choose to attend one or the other.

In both workshops, you’ll learn some Origami history and explore the basic folds from which all origami figures are made.

  • In this second session, you’ll learn to fold a modular fall leaf wreath—a perfect way to celebrate the start of the fall season. If you attended the previous workshop, this will also be a great opportunity to practice and reinforce your foundational techniques.
  • In the first workshop on Thursday, September 12 (register here),  you’ll develop your origami skills,  and practice as you learn to fold an easy versions of a flower, a leaf and a butterfly.  If time permits, you can complete several of these for a lovely bouquet you can share with family and friends.

All materials will be supplied.

Registration is required.  These program are for adults (18+).

“I was one of those kids who drew on the walls at home. Art was always my favorite subject in school. But since then it has grown from just being something I did, into some WAY I AM.”

Joy Ann Cabanos’ art springs from a deep love of nature, people & animals, music, poetry & dance.  She has been part of many group and solo exhibits in the Philippines, the UK and the USA. Her work is featured in private collections locally and internationally.
